You may have heard the clapping and cheering around town as the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH) Foundation’s volunteer Campaign Cabinet celebrated the good news. The hospital has submitted the Stage 4.1 plans for the new Emergency Department to the Ministry of Health. Upon Ministry approval, the project will move to the tendering stage.

Stage 4 is the pre-construction phase which includes working drawings and contract documents. It includes a detailed review of the design, layouts of all rooms, and the final locations of equipment and accessories.

And even more good news! To help prepare for going to tender, a Request for Prequalification Proposals for interested General Contractors and Mechanical and Electrical Subcontractors has been issued.

The Healthy Futures. Together! Comprehensive Capital Campaign for the new Emergency Department building and vital Patient Care Equipment is being led by Co-Chairs, Lori Cavanagh and Richard Kidd. They lead a 20-member volunteer Campaign Cabinet made up of dedicated local community members who have been working behind the scenes for many months, reaching out to leaders in our local communities to rally their support for the project.

“This is positive news and our team is ready to make the final push to fulfil the community share for the new building and 100% of all equipment costs” noted Lori Cavanagh and Richard Kidd. “And we know that there are many donors in our local communities who have been waiting for this news.”

“The support of community partners, donors, volunteers, and leaders is instrumental in helping shape CPDMH’s future. Together, we will build a new Emergency Department and purchase specialized medical equipment for our healthcare team,” summed up Linda McGreevy, Foundation Chair and Campaign Advisor.  “There are many ways to give to make a donation and each gift makes an incredible impact on local health care. Thank you!”
