Due to the extreme heat, the Perth and District Community Centre, at 2 Beckwith Street East, will be open for the public to cool off from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm today July 10th, 2020. There will be washrooms available and tables and chairs. Social distancing must be followed and everyone must be wearing a face covering or mask.

The Cooling Station at the Community Centre will be open when the forecasted high for the day is 28 degrees Celsius or higher. The public can check the Town of Perth Facebook page or the website at www.perth.ca/news to confirm day to day when the Cooling Station will be open.

Mayor John Fenik is thrilled to provide this for the community. “This heat has been relentless and there are many people in Perth without air conditioning, so this Cooling Station will provide a location to get some relief. Please remember to wear your mask and stay two metres from others.”
