With a note of cautious hopefulness, Mayor Shawn Pankow announced that Monday evening’s Committee of the Whole may be the last virtual meeting.

“It is our hope that we will be able to return to in-person meetings in our new council chambers on January 30 if the work is completed in the next 2 weeks,” Pankow said.

A grinning Councilor Stephen Robinson raised crossed fingers for luck.

While council and committee meetings will be held in the freshly renovated council chambers, the town will continue to operate meetings on a hybrid model. Council members and staff will be able to remotely participate when they aren’t able to be physically present, and the public will be able to view online as well.

Meetings will continue to be livestreamed via Facebook and Youtube.

The new council chambers are expected to be completed this month.
