The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), under direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, is investigating a sudden death in Beckwith Township near Carleton Place.

On September 24, 2020, shortly before 10:30 a.m., the OPP responded to a 9-1-1 call from a residence in Scotch Corners. Officers located a deceased male at that location. 

The victim has been identified as Gregory SLEWIDGE, age 39 of Beckwith Township.

The investigation is in its early stages. A post mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted on September 25, 2020 in Ottawa.
