Death Determined To Be Murder

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has now confirmed the death of a Beckwith Township resident is a murder.

On September 24, 2020, shortly before 10:30 a.m., Lanark County OPP responded to a 9-1-1 call from a residence in Scotch Corners, west of Carleton Place. Officers located the body of Gregory SLEWIDGE, age 39 of Beckwith Township.

A post mortem examination, conducted in Ottawa on September 25, 2020, determined the death was the result of homicide. The investigation by the Lanark OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, continues.
