At the regular Perth council meeting on Tuesday, February 21, Mayor Judy Brown handed out the annual Heritage Perth Architectural Awards. These are given out every year to recognize, promote, and encourage excellence in heritage conservation in Perth. In the buildings category, the winner was Rob Geroux, the owner of the Red Fox on Foster Street. Rob undertook a major renovation to the facility last year paying respect to its historical nature.

In the heritage craftspeople category, the award went to Vanessa DiNardo for her traditional masonry work on Bistro 54 and the Shaws Building. The landscapes award went to Lynda Haddon for her work in the gardens at the Perth Museum, the flag gardens, and the Inge Va gardens.
