Online auction is a financial lifeline for local chicken sanctuary.

On November 20, 2023 Secondhand Stories launched their biggest fundraiser of the year, their winter online auction. Sadly, on occasion, owners can no longer care for their animals and the rescue provides the opportunity for chickens to continue their lives in a sanctuary setting. They take in ill, injured or homeless animals that have nowhere else to go and currently provide a home to 13 rescued & special needs chickens.

The auction, running from November 20-25 on their Instagram page, features over 50 items generously donated by local, national and even international businesses. Funds raised from this auction will help Secondhand Stories prepare for the winter ahead ensuring they are ready for any medical emergencies, allow them to invest in new oil heaters (to keep the flocks warm), and purchase enrichment for the chickens so they don’t get bored on cold winter days.

Secondhand Stories aims to raise $3,000 through their online auction. To bid on items and help support their sanctuary visit https://www.instagram.com/secondhandstories_/
