A documentary exploring the emotional and practical realities of dementia care will be screened in Smiths Falls later this month, followed by a community discussion with the film team.

No More Silent Battles, directed and produced by Dr. Jenny Ingram, will be shown Sunday, May 31 at the Smiths Falls Community Theatre, located at 53 Victoria Ave.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and the film begins at 1 p.m.

According to organizers, the documentary focuses on the growing pressures faced by families, caregivers and support systems as they navigate dementia and aging-related care challenges.

The event is being presented in partnership with the Alzheimer Society Lanark Leeds Grenville and includes a question-and-answer session following the screening.

Organizers say the film is intended to spark conversation around the impact dementia has on families and communities, while also highlighting the experiences of caregivers who often face the challenges quietly and with limited support.

More information about the documentary is available at No More Silent Battles.
