With Ontario’s municipal election just a few months away, local races are beginning to take shape as prospective candidates step forward to help guide their communities through the next four years.
Election day is set for Oct. 26, but the unofficial candidate list in North Grenville is off to a quiet start.
Residents will elect a five-member council consisting of a mayor, deputy mayor and three councillors. So far, Robert Leach is the only prospective candidate to declare his intention to seek a council seat, while no one has yet entered the race for mayor.
There is still plenty of time for the ballot to fill out. Prospective candidates have until Aug. 21, 2026, to file their nomination papers.
