Police remain on scene at Last Duel Park as investigation continues
PERTH — One person is dead following an incident at Last Duel Park on Sunday afternoon, and Ontario Provincial Police say the investigation is ongoing.
Lanark County OPP officers were called to the park around 3:15 p.m. on April 12, where they found an individual with life-threatening injuries. The person was taken to a trauma centre but later pronounced dead.
Police say early information suggests the incident is isolated and there is no indication of a broader threat to the public.
Investigators remained in the area Sunday and will be there into Monday, with an increased police presence expected as the investigation continues.
The case is being handled by the Lanark County OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, with support from the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Additional assistance is being provided by the Emergency Response Team, Forensic Identification Services and the Regional Support Team.
