Pedestrian seriously injured in downtown Perth

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate after a pedestrian was struck by a car in downtown Perth.

It happened just after 2:00 p.m. on May 23, 2024, on Foster Street near Wilson.

An 81-year-old woman was walking through the parking area adjacent to the street as a car was backing up. The vehicle hit the woman and she ended up under the vehicle.

The woman was transported to an Ottawa trauma centre by Lanark County Paramedics for treatment. Her injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

The OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting with the investigation.
