PERTH — Linden Housing Co-operative will open applications for membership on May 15, 2026, for a new not-for-profit housing community at 79 Wilson St. W. in Perth.

Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2026, with occupancy anticipated in January and February 2027.

The project includes 39 residential units in a community-oriented setting, marking a step toward expanding attainable housing options in Perth.

Monthly housing charges are capped at $1,210 for a studio unit, $1,350 for a one-bedroom unit, $1,503 for a two-bedroom unit and $1,725 for a three-bedroom unit.

Ten units will be offered as rent-geared-to-income through the County of Lanark and will be filled via the county’s centralized waiting list. Individuals seeking rent-geared-to-income housing are advised to apply through the county, not directly to Linden.

Eight units are designed for individuals requiring wheelchair accessibility.

As a not-for-profit housing co-operative, Linden aims to provide long-term housing stability and foster a strong, participatory community.

“Affordable, secure housing is only part of the goal,” said Steven Welchner, chair of Linden Housing Co-operative. “We’re also working to build a community where people know each other and look out for one another.”

Applicants who advance in the selection process will be asked to attend an information session in August.

More information, including a FAQ, is available at www.lindencoop.ca.
