With the Ontario Provincial Elections set for later this month, residents in the riding of Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston will have the opportunity to hear from local candidates at a special All-Candidates Meeting set for Tuesday, February 18th at 6:30pm at the Perth Civitan Club on Hwy. 43.

The evening is co-sponsored by the Perth & District Chamber of Commerce and Carleton Place & District Chamber of Commerce.  Members of both Chambers can submit questions for the candidates beforehand, while the public can submit questions that evening.

Perth Chamber Executive Director Paloma Mazer says, “It’s a very short campaign period this time leading up to the election on February 27th.  Our business community and the public want to see their concerns addressed.  This event allows voters in our part of the riding to hear from all political parties at once.”

Jackie Kavanagh, Carleton Place Chamber General Manager, adds, “These are turbulent times in politics. We expect business members to ask about many of the issues that affect our region including healthcare spending, the doctor shortage, education, policing costs, the environment and of course inflation, tariffs and interprovincial trade.”

As of this release date, candidates confirmed for the event include incumbent Progressive Conservative MPP John Jordan, Liberal Rob Rainer, NDP John MacRae and Green Party candidate Dr. Marlene Spruyt.  Candidates from other parties and independents are also expected to take part.
