3 candidates seek deputy mayor, while 11 are running for 5 council seats
Four candidates are seeking the mayor’s chair in Perth following the close of nominations for the 2026 municipal election.
Current councillor David Bird, Stephanie Drummond, incumbent Deputy Mayor Ed McPherson and current councillor Isabel Anne McRae have filed nomination papers for mayor.
Three candidates are running for deputy mayor: Jamie Dyer, Richard Schooley and Catherine Schoular.
Eleven candidates are seeking the five councillor positions.
The council candidates are current councillor Jim Boldt, incumbent Mayor Judy Brown, Marlene Donoghue, Sheldon Giff, Peter Gardner Hallam, Ramsey Hart, Trevor Oattes, Paul Quinnell, Kassina Ryder, current councillor Gary Waterfield and Derek Zeisman.
The candidate list remains unofficial. The clerk is expected to examine and certify the nominations by Monday, Aug. 24.
The municipal election will be held Oct. 26.
