During Monday evening’s town council meeting in Smiths Falls, Councilor Lorraine Allen brought an update from the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario (RMEO).

The RMEO held Trainfest on August 13 and 14, and welcomed more than 1200 attendees. The museum brought in $19,000 that weekend.

Councilor Allen noted that the much-anticipated Hogwarts Express event scheduled for September 24 has already sold out of train ride tickets. General admission continues to be available, and the Harry Potter themed event will include fun for the whole family.

RMEO board members will be dressed as Harry Potter characters, Allen added.

The museum offers school programs, volunteer opportunities, and venue rentals as well.
