PERTH — Road closures remain in place around Last Duel Park as Ontario Provincial Police continue to investigate a death reported Sunday afternoon.
Lanark County OPP officers were called to the park around 3:15 p.m. on April 12, where a person was found with life-threatening injuries. The individual was transported to a trauma centre and later pronounced dead. Police have said the incident appears to be isolated, with no indication of a broader threat to public safety.
In an update issued by the Town of Perth, officials said they are working with emergency services to support the ongoing investigation and urged residents to avoid the area.
Closures remain in effect on several streets near the park, including Cole Road between Craig Street and Cockburn Street, Brock Street South from Sherbrooke Street East to Cole Road, and Cockburn Street from Sherbrooke Street East to Cole Road.
Mayor Judy Brown said the situation may be unsettling for residents and thanked the community for its patience and co-operation as the investigation continues.
