Smiths Falls Police and OPP Eastern Region Crisis Negotiators worked together to resolve the situation peacefully.

The male eventually exited the residence without incident and was taken into custody. A shotgun was seized from the residence. No injuries were reported.

The 32-year-old Smiths Falls resident now faces charges related to domestic mischief and several firearms offences. He is scheduled for a bail hearing this afternoon.
