Smiths Falls Bears score four in second period to take control of game
SMITHS FALLS — The Smiths Falls Bears moved closer to advancing in their Bogart Cup playoff series with a 6-2 win over the Brockville Braves on Tuesday night.
Brockville opened the scoring at 11:06 of the first period on a goal by Nevyn Trenholm. The Bears answered late in the period, with Caeden Heins finding the net at 17:32 to even the score.
Smiths Falls scored four times in the second period to take control.
Marc-Antoine Riopel gave the Bears the lead at 2:52, followed by Dean Carvallo at 8:33. Andrea Blais extended the advantage at 13:58, and Tyson Parker added another at 14:47.
Kayden Buller responded for Brockville late in the period, scoring at 18:18.
Parker added his second goal of the game in the third period, the lone goal of the frame, to secure the 6-2 win for the Bears.
Parker was named first star, Riopel earned second star honours, and Trenholm received third star for Brockville.
