Smiths Falls Bears strike early but can’t hold off Rockland surge
SMITHS FALLS — The Rockland Nationals captured the Bogart Cup with a 6-2 win over the Smiths Falls Bears on Wednesday night.
Smiths Falls got off to a strong start in the first period.












Jacob Smith opened the scoring just 20 seconds into the game, and Davis Hails extended the lead with a power-play goal at 5:07.
Rockland responded quickly, as Gabriel Le Houillier scored twice at 5:26 and 12:56 to tie the game.
The Nationals took control in the second period.
Mavrick Brunet scored the game-winning goal at 6:34, and Danel Myloserdnyy added a power-play goal at 18:06.
Rockland sealed the win in the third period. Myloserdnyy scored again at 6:15, and Alex Kelloway added a power-play goal at 8:00.
Le Houillier was named first star, Myloserdnyy second star and Smith third star.
Despite the loss, the Bears completed a strong season, reaching the Bogart Cup final.
In other team news, the Bears announced their 2026 CCHL draft picks Tuesday: Jacob Tysick, Quinn Creally, Aiden Plooy, Owen Marshall, Jake Baumgartner, Mason Hoelke, Thomas Anderson and Reid Foley.
