Suspect arrested in mischief investigation

Smiths Falls Police Service has laid charges following a mischief investigation involving damage at municipal buildings.

The investigation began Feb. 20, 2026, after reports of intentional damage to facilities at multiple municipal buildings.. Police allege the suspect entered washroom facilities and deliberately blocked sewage drains using foreign objects, including diapers, causing damage and service disruptions.

Police identified the suspect through surveillance footage and made an arrest on March 30, 2026.

Brian Stinson, 38, of Perth, is charged with two counts of mischief. He was released from custody with conditions and a future court date.

Charges laid after department store dispute

Police responded to a 911 call on March 31, 2026, reporting a possible assault at a department store.

Officers attended and arrested a suspect at the scene without incident.

Kory Guyea, 24, of Smiths Falls, is charged with assault, uttering threats and failing to comply with a probation order. He was released with conditions and a future court date.

Suspect surrenders to police after making online threats

Police began an investigation April 3, 2026, after becoming aware of an exchange of online threats between two individuals.

The suspect later surrendered to police without incident.

Tiffany Calgey, 33, of Smiths Falls, is charged with uttering threats. She was released from custody with conditions and a future court date.

Arrest made in breach investigation

Police received information April 7, 2026, about a possible breach of court-ordered conditions at a residence.

Officers attended and arrested a suspect at the scene without incident.

Shawn Woodcock, 46, is charged with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order and a provincial trespassing offence. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Renfrew County OPP assist Smiths Falls Police in locating wanted suspect

On April 10, 2026, the Smiths Falls Police Service, with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police in Renfrew County, arrested a man wanted in connection with a December 2025 intimate partner violence investigation.

A 51-year-old man is charged with two counts of assault, failing to comply with a probation order and unlawfully being in a dwelling. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Arrest made in shoplifting investigation

Police arrested a suspect April 12, 2026, in connection with a shoplifting investigation from April 9, 2026.

The suspect was identified using retail security camera footage.

Anthony Henderson, 42, of Smiths Falls, is charged with theft under $5,000. He was released with conditions and a future court date.

IPV investigation leads to arrest

SFPS began an intimate partner violence investigation April 13, 2026.

Officers located and arrested a suspect without incident.

A 61-year-old man from Ottawa is charged with assault causing bodily harm and three counts of assault. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The charges in these matters have not been proven in court.
