Multiple arrests made following assault and IPV investigations in Smiths Falls

Smiths Falls Police identify additional assault suspects and arrest two in separate intimate partner violence cases

Assault investigation update: Additional suspects identified and arrested

On December 21st, 2025 Smiths Falls Police Service began an investigation into an assault that took place at the Victoria Street pedestrian underpass. One suspect, Allan PILON was taken into custody the same day. Members of the Smiths Falls Police continued the investigation and successfully identified three additional suspects.

On December 27th, 2025, 45 year old, James MORRIS of Smiths Falls was arrested without incident. The accused stands charged with aggravated assault (x1), and failing to comply with their probation order (x1). The accused was held in custody for a bail court hearing.

On December 28th, 2025 the two remaining suspects attended the police station to surrender themselves on their outstanding charges.

As a result, 18 year old, Clinton CAMPBELL of Lanark stands charged with aggravated assault (x1), failing to comply with their probation order (x2), criminal harassment (x1), possession of weapon for dangerous purpose (x1), and uttering threats (x1). A 15 year old, also stands charged with aggravated assault (x1), failing to comply with bail release order (x1), criminal harassment (x1), possession of weapon for dangerous purpose (x1), and uttering threats (x1). The accused were held in custody for a bail court hearing.

Charges laid in IPV investigation

On December 21st, 2025 Smiths Falls Police began an investigation into an intimate partner violence threat complaint. Members of the Smiths Falls Police attended a residence and arrested the suspect without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 43 year old male from Smiths Falls stands charged with uttering threats (x2). The accused was held in custody for a bail court hearing.

IPV investigation leads to arrest

On December 28th, 2025 members of the Smiths Falls Police began an intimate partner violence investigation, after receiving information of a possible breach of conditions. Members of the Smiths Falls Police attended the residence and confirmed the suspect was in breach of their bail conditions. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

As a result, a 41 year old male from Smiths Falls stands charged with failing to comply with their bail release order (x2). The accused was held in custody for a bail court hearing.

The charges in these matters have not been proven in court.
