Smiths Falls Police arrest two for bail and sentencing breaches

Bail violations lead to arrest

On January 8th 2025, the Smiths Falls Police Service were alerted of a possible breach of conditions for a subject who was out on a bail release order. Members of Smiths Falls Police commenced an investigation.

As a result of the investigation, a 28 year old male was located and arrested. The accused stands charged with two counts of failure to comply with their release order. The charges are stemming from a previous incident of intimate partner violence.

The accused was held in custody for another bail hearing at the Ontario court of Justice in Perth.

Subject arrested and returned to correctional facility

On January 7th 2025, the Smiths Falls Police Service received a report of a breach of sentencing conditions. This sentencing was a result of previous convictions of intimate partner violence.

The investigation revealed multiple breaches of the sentencing conditions, which allowed constables to begin their attempts to locate and arrest the subject.

On January 9th 2025, the 27 year old female was located and arrested. The subject stands accused for breaching their conditional sentence order. The subject has been returned to their assigned correctional facility until their next scheduled court date.
