Studio Theatre presents Scrooge! The Musical

It all started with a seed of an idea.

The SCROOGE! seed was planted a long time ago here at Studio Theatre in Perth. Carolee Mason put this musical proposal forward to the play reading committee. That was just before COVID closed every thing down back in March of 2020.  And before that Carolee and her husband Geoff had previously designed the set and put the hugely successful show on, a decade ago. This past spring Carolee met with producer Jane Stott and began to put a multi-faceted plan of action in place for a Studio Theatre Perth production for Christmas 2022, with lots of unique ideas for staging, lighting, blocking and costuming for such a huge endeavor – involving close to 60 cast and crew.

We have not had a musical at Studio Theatre since 2018, when we rocked the house with SISTER ACT.  There are a couple of interesting segways between these two musicals.  Rob Glass was Monsignor O’Hara in SISTER ACT and will be portraying Jacob Marley in SCROOGE!  Rob will be just one in a cast of over 30, from age 9 to 70 +.  As well, Brad Mills was the musical director and band leader for Sister Act, and he is reprising those roles in SCROOGE!
