Tay Valley council salary ranges from $17K to $31K including expenses
TAY VALLEY TOWNSHIP — Tay Valley Township has released its annual statement detailing how much council members were paid in salary, honorariums and expenses in 2025.
The disclosure is required each year under Section 284 of the Municipal Act, which requires municipal treasurers to report remuneration and expenses paid to members of council and individuals appointed to local boards.
Treasurer Ashley Liznick prepared the report, and council received it for information on March 24. Municipalities are required to make the disclosure publicly available each year before March 31.
According to the report, Mayor Rob Rainer received total compensation and expenses of $31,318.76 in 2025. Deputy Mayor Fred Dobbie received $22,903.20.
Councillors received the following totals:
Wayne Baker — $19,034.04
Greg Hallam — $19,214.68
Korrine Jordan — $17,075.88
Keith Kerr — $18,429.16
Angela Pierman — $18,102.60
Marilyn Thomas — $18,697.99
The report includes salary, honorariums, mileage and other eligible expenses reimbursed by the township.
It also notes that some remuneration tied to external boards is paid directly by those organizations. For example, the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority paid Baker $812.16 for his role with that board, while the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority paid Pierman $713.08 for her participation.
