The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Perth and District will host a Meet the Candidates event for Tay Valley Township residents on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bridget Vincent Mary (BVM) Hall, 844 Stanley Rd.
Sandra Shaw will moderate the forum, which will give residents an opportunity to hear from candidates in person.
Candidates for councillor will each have two minutes to explain why they are running and why residents should vote for them.
Candidates for deputy reeve and reeve will be given two minutes for opening remarks, two minutes to answer six questions and one minute for closing remarks.
An informal meet-and-greet will follow the formal portion of the event.
CFUW Perth and District says municipal council has a significant role in directing the future of the community and that candidate meetings are a public service and an important part of the democratic process.
All Tay Valley Township residents are invited to attend.
