Telemedicine available in Perth Mews

During Tuesday evening’s council meeting in Perth, Councillor Judy Brown shared good news for residents who do not yet have a family doctor: telemedicine is available in Perth.

Enhanced Care provides virtual physician appointments online at gotodoctor.ca; however, they also have satellite locations in pharmacies and clinics across Ontario and Manitoba. At these locations, pharmacists and/or nurses are available to assist anyone in accessing this health care. Their services are fully covered under OHIP.

The Perth site is located in the Perth Mews Pharmacy. The Pharmacy’s hours are 9am-6pm Monday – Friday, and 10am-1pm Saturday; closed on Sunday and Holidays.

“I did not know that this service existed,” shared Councillor Brown, “if you don’t have a family doctor, you can teleconference with a doctor and they can diagnose you and write a prescription.”

“We know the orphan patient list is shrinking,” Councillor Brown stated, “but this will help those who do not have a family doctor in the meantime.”
