Saturday, Aug. 30, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., beside the library on High Street. Local produce, crafts, food and sharpshooting knife sharpening. 

Carleton Place

Carleton Place Farmers’ Market
Saturday, Aug. 30, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Market Square Pavilion, 7 Beckwith Street. Local produce, baking and handmade treasures. 

Perth

Perth Fair
Friday, Aug. 29 to Monday, Sept. 1, Perth Fairgrounds, Arthur Street
The four-day event features agricultural exhibits, livestock shows, midway rides, live music, a demolition derby, truck and tractor pulls, and plenty of local food. Visitors can also browse homecraft displays, check out youth competitions, and enjoy the classic fair parade on Saturday morning. Gates open daily at 8 a.m. with entertainment running into the evening. Advance ride bracelets and full event details are available at perthfair.com

Perth Farmers’ Market
Saturday, Aug. 30, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Crystal Palace. Riverside setting with produce, prepared foods and artisan crafts.

Smiths Falls

Open Air Market
Friday, Aug. 29, 3 to 7 p.m. at Centennial Park, 2-22 Confederation Dr. Pick up some produce, check out the crafters and artisans. Food available on site. 

Cubs Car Wash and BBQ Fundraiser
Saturday, Aug. 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Smiths Falls Ford
Come support the Smiths Falls Cubs U13 hockey team. Every dollar helps the team hit the ice this season. 

Downtown Music Series
Saturday, Aug. 30, listen to the sounds of Umberlune from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Town Square Bandstand, 77 Beckwith St. (Beside Town Hall). 

SweetHaven Farmstand and Petting area
Saturday, Aug. 30, 583 Poonamalie Side Road, Petting area, train rides, pedal kart track, zorb balls, swings, etc. Farm stand requires admission, $5 per person. Children 1 and under, no charge. 

Westport

Westport Market
Saturday, Aug. 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 38 Concession Rd., Westport. Enjoy local produce and products in this open-air market setting. 

Paint the Summer Art Show and Sale
Saturday, Aug. 23, and Sunday, Aug. 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westport Arena, 27 Spring St. Free admission. Hosted by the Rideau Lakes Artists’ Association. 

Live at the Cove
* Friday, Aug. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. Dave Balfour and Jamie Campbell, “No Principals”
* Saturday, Aug. 30, 5 to 8 p.m. Chris Murphy presents some east coast folk mastery.
* Sunday, Aug. 31, 5 to 8 p.m. Head over Heels.
